WRC 2019 Agenda Item Details
Agenda Item: | Agenda Item 9.1.2 |
Resolution(s): | Resolution 761 [COM4/7] (WRC-15) |
Description of work: | This agenda item relates to compatibility of IMT and BSS (sound) in the frequency band 1 452-1 492 MHz in Regions 1 and 3. The Resolution invites the ITU-R to:
This could then be used, where appropriate, to determine the need for bilateral coordination. |
Comments: | In the UK this band was auctioned off in 2008 and the whole 40 MHz purchased by Qualcomm. However there haven't been any deployments and towards the end of 2015 Qualcomm sold the lower 20 MHz to Vodafone and upper 20 MHz to Three. |
Lead Working Party(s): | WP 4A |
Involved Working Parties: | WP 5D, WP 6A |
How Visualyse products can help: | Visualyse Professional can model both IMT and BSS(sound) systems. It can be used to assess the impact of PFD on boundary thresholds or calculate whether an IMT system would meet or exceed such a threshold. Interference can also be assessed in terms of reduction in link margin or I/N using a range of methodologies including static, area and Monte Carlo. A range of propagation models could be used including Hata / COST 231 for generic studies or P.452, P.1546, P.1812 or P.2001 for site specific analysis using terrain and/or land use data. |
How Transfinite consultants can help: | We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this agenda item, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at the ITU-R WPs. Using our in house Visualyse Professional we can quickly model a very wide range of systems, services and scenarios. |
