WRC 2007 Agenda Item Details

Agenda Item: Agenda 1.19
Resolution(s): (none)
Description of work: This agenda item relates to spectrum for broadband services via satellite. A number of bands have been identified in 5.BC03 for use by high density fixed satellite service (HDFSS) applications, and it would be beneficial if there were globally harmonised spectrum. Work is therefore required to: i) identify the requirement for spectrum for these types of systems; ii) identify the preferred global harmonised bands, potentially including sharing studies with other services allocated in these bands
Lead Working Party(s): WP 4A
Involved Working Parties: WP 4A, WP 4B, 4-9S, WP 6S, WP 7C, WP 7D, WP 8D
How Visualyse products can help: We have two products that can assist in this agenda item: Visualyse Coordinate is our product for rapid and easy coordination of the introduction of satellite earth stations, with one-click interference analysis and integration with terrain and assignment databases; Visualyse Professional can be used to analyse sharing scenarios between FSS (uplink or downlink, GSO or non-GSO) and other services that could share these bands, including fixed, mobile, EESS, radioastronomy etc. Analysis can be between in-band or out-of-band services.
How Transfinite consultants can help: We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this agenda item, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at relevant ITU-R Working Parties. We have extensive experience in issues relating to sharing with the fixed service from our development of Visualyse Coordinate, and work in support of our client's earth station coordinations. We have also experience in sharing between FSS applications and many other services from previous studies undertaken.
