WRC 2019 Agenda Item Details
Agenda Item: | Agenda Item 1.5 |
Resolution(s): | Resolution 158 [COM6/17] (WRC-15) |
Description of work: | This agenda item relates to consideration of the use of the frequency bands 17.7-19.7 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 27.5-29.5 GHz (Earth-to-space) by earth stations in motion (ESIMs) communicating with geostationary space stations in the fixed-satellite service and take appropriate action, in accordance with Resolution 158 [COM6/17] (WRC-15). This includes:
|
Comments: | ESIMs were previously known as Earth Stations on Moving Platforms or ESOMPs. |
Lead Working Party(s): | WP 4A |
Involved Working Parties: | WP 3M, WP 4B, WP 4C, WP 5A, WP 5C, WP 5D, WP 7B, WP 7C |
How Visualyse products can help: | Visualyse Professional can model satellite networks using traditional ES and also ESIMs, whether on ships, planes, trains or other vehicles. It can be used to undertake dynamic or Monte Carlo analysis, for example including various degrees of pointing accuracy and include features such as power control loops (e.g. to compensate for rain fade). It can be used to calculate a range of metrics including I/N, C/I, C/(N+I) or PFD/EPFD. Networks can be read in from ITU databases such as SRS/IFICs and include spot beams or GIMS style shaped beams. The analysis could either be undertaken assuming clear air (free space) propagation or including gaseous attenuation and/or rain P.618. |
How Transfinite consultants can help: | We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this agenda item, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at the ITU-R WPs. Using our in house Visualyse Professional we can quickly model a very wide range of systems, services and scenarios. We have particular good experience in modelling ESIMs from past projects involving these systems and both GSO and non-GSO FSS networks in these bands. |
