WRC 2007 Agenda Item Details

Agenda Item: Agenda 1.2
Resolution(s): Resolution 746 [COM7/8], 742 [COM5/3]
Description of work: This agenda item refers to three issues relating to EESS (passive) and the GSO meteorological satellite service: i) consider whether it would be feasible for WRC 2007 to extend the allocation for GSO meteorological satellite service between 18.1 and 18.3 GHz to provide 300 MHz of contiguous spectrum; ii) to determine appropriate sharing criteria between EESS (passive) & SRS (passive) and the fixed and mobile services in the 10.6 - 10.68 GHz band; and iii) to determine suitable criteria for EESS (passive) to share the 36 - 37 GHz band with fixed and mobile services, in particular high density point to point fixed services
Lead Working Party(s): WP 7B, WP 7C
Involved Working Parties: WP 4A, WP 7B, WP 7C, WP 8A, WP 9D
How Visualyse products can help: Visualyse Professional can be used to model all the services covered by this agenda item, including the EESS (passive), SRS (passive) and GSO meteorological satellites, and services in fixed (both point to point and point to multi-point), fixed satellite (both GSO and non-GSO) and mobile services.
How Transfinite consultants can help: We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this agenda item, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at relevant ITU-R Working Parties. We have experience of studying sharing between space services such as EESS and other services such as FS and FSS from a number of past projects.
