Agenda Item: |
Agenda 1.11 |
Resolution(s): |
Resolution 545 [COM4/5] |
Description of work: |
This agenda item relates to proposals to provide broadcast satellite services in the band 620 - 790 MHz, from GSO or non-GSO stations. This band is extensively used by terrestrial applications, in particular terrestrial television broadcasting, and it is therefore necessary to undertake studies of sharing including the sharing criteria, together with regulatory provisions. It should be noted that article 22.2 applies in this band, and so study will be required to ensure that non-GSO BSS systems do not cause unacceptable interference into GSO systems. These bands also have allocations to the fixed and mobile services in some regions, which results in additional scenarios that require study. |

How Visualyse products can help: |
Visualyse Professional can model the sharing scenarios in this band including analysis of the impact of BSS transmissions (whether GSO or non-GSO including HEO) into terrestrial TV services, including looking at the impact on coverage. Visualyse Professional can also analyse sharing scenarios involving the other services in this band. |
How Transfinite consultants can help: |
We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this agenda item, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at relevant ITU-R Working Parties. We extensive experience of sharing for these types of scenarios having undertaken a study of sharing between GSO and HEO BSS (sound) and terrestrial services in another frequency band. |
