WRC 2023 Agenda Item Details
Agenda Item: | Agenda Item 1.14 |
Resolution(s): | Resolution 662 (COM6/11) (WRC-19) |
Description of work: | This agenda item is to review and consider possible adjustments of the existing or possible new primary frequency allocations to EESS (passive) in the frequency range 231.5 - 252 GHz to ensure alignment with more up-to-date remote-sensing observation requirements. The ITU-R is invited to:
WRC-23 is invited to review the results of these studies with a view to adjusting existing allocations or adding possible new allocations, as appropriate, to the EESS (passive) in the frequency range 231.5 - 252 GHz without unduly constraining the other primary services currently allocated in this frequency range |
Comments: | Resolution 662 (COM6/11) notes that these allocations were made at WRC-2000 based on an agenda item agreed at WRC-97 and that there have been scientific and technological developments in passive microwave sensor measurements over the last 20 years. Hence it is appropriate to ensure that the frequency allocations to EESS (passive) agreed in 2000 correspond to up-to-date observation requirements for passive microwave sensing |
Lead Working Party(s): | WP 7C |
Involved Working Parties: | WP 3J, WP 3M, WP 4A, WP 4C, WP 5A, WP 5B, WP 5C |
How Visualyse products can help: | Visualyse Professional can model the EESS (passive) service and other services in the range 231.5 - 252 GHz (and adjacent bands) such as the fixed, mobile, fixed-satellite, space research, radiolocation, radionavigation, radionavigation satellite and radio astronomy services. A range of modelling methodologies can be used including static and dynamic including modelling of satellite orbits. Propagation models are available for space to space, space to Earth and terrestrial paths and Visualyse Professional can model both co-frequency and non-co-frequency interference scenarios |
How Transfinite consultants can help: | We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the different services covered by this agenda item including EESS, fixed, mobile, fixed-satellite, space research, radiolocation, radionavigation, radionavigation satellite and radio astronomy services. We can help identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criteria, and provide contributions and representation at ITU-R Working Parties. Using our in house Visualyse Professional we can quickly model a very wide range of systems, services and scenarios. |
