WRC 2007 Agenda Item Details

Agenda Item: Resolution 952 [COM7/3]
Resolution(s): Resolution 952 [COM7/3]
Description of work: This resolution relates to the issue of Ultra Wide-band (UWB) systems, that have a very large bandwidth and so could operate across many frequency bands, potentially impacting a large number of receivers. These systems are not considered as Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (SIM) applications. There is therefore a need to continue studies about the issues raised by these systems, including sharing studies and regulatory procedures.
Lead Working Party(s): TG 1/8
Involved Working Parties: TG 1/8, WP 4A, WP 6E, WP 6S, WP 7C, WP 7D, WP 8A, WP 8B, WP 8D, WP 9A, WP 9D
How Visualyse products can help: Visualyse Professional can be used to model UWB systems operating co-frequency with a wide range of other services, from terrestrial services such as fixed, mobile, broadcast, radiolocation, radio astronomy, to satellite services such as fixed satellite, mobile satellite, broadcast satellite, EESS and space science.
How Transfinite consultants can help: We can undertake studies including analysis of sharing between the services covered by this resolution, and identify suitable system characteristics and sharing criterias, and provide contributions and representation at relevant ITU-R Working Parties. We have a good understanding of the issues of sharing between UWB applications, and the other services.
